About the Role:
You'll be joining an organisation with investment following consistent growth and new product innovation, coupled with positive change programmes to increase product output and also reduce manual machine handling by increasing automation across the operation. Maybe you've taken accountability for projects within your role as a Maintenance Engineer and are seeking to grow your career further in this area. The successfully appointed individual will be joining a team of project engineers. You will bring strengths in mechanical engineering with exposure to lathes, milling and similar. Ideally, you will work in a heavy industrial environment, such as chemical, petrochemical, oil, gas, energy and/or steel manufacturing.
Your Accountabilities:
1. Effectively lead engineering projects from conception to hand over and provide continued technical support post handover
2. Support other engineering projects and maintenance activities
3. Routinely achieve individual targets and make significant contributions to team and company objectives
4. Deliver continuous improvement initiatives for wider business benefit
5. Key point of contact for operations and maintenance support requirements
What You'll Need to Succeed:
You will be a self-starting individual, someone that strives for continuous improvement and is able to lead a project to completion. You will have some exposure to Project Management and be passionate about carving your career further. In addition, you will:
* Hold a HNC, Degree, or similar in Mechanical discipline or equivalent
* Have working knowledge of project management techniques and tools
* First-class communication skills are essential as you will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth completion of projects
* Good working knowledge of computer packages, such as Microsoft Office and MS projects (or similar)
* An efficient problem solver with analytical skills, for example RCA & Pareto
Desired Skills and Experience:
Consideration will be given to an experienced mechanical technician looking for career progression into a project engineering role. Wide knowledge of site assets, health and safety legislation, and design codes. Demonstrated competence/understanding of site safety systems, including permit to work procedures and other company policies. The correct right to work in the UK without restriction or expiry.
