The Head of Tax will lead the Universitys Tax compliance and advisory functions, ensuring adherence to UK and international tax legislation. The postholder will provide expert guidance on complex tax matters, support strategic financial planning, and contribute to the development of tax-efficient practices across the University and its subsidiaries. As a senior finance professional within the University, you will play a prominent role, managing the Tax team, providing strategic direction and operational leadership. Working at the heart of a vibrant and diverse academic environment, you will ensure services are delivered to high standards, manage performance and service metrics, and guide a team of professional support staff that reflects the Universitys commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance (HoCF), you will be an experienced and highly motivated individual with knowledge of working in a large complex organisation who is able to perform effectively under significant pressure, continuously working within tight deadlines and is expected to act independently with little direct supervision from his/her line manager. Commitment to Diversity The University of Liverpool is committed to enhancing workforce diversity. We actively seek to attract, develop, and retain colleagues with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We welcome applications from all genders/gender identities, Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, individuals living with a disability, and members of the LGBTQIA community.
