Managing Director – Food
£100,000–£125,000 + package

We are partnering with a well‑established, fast‑growing food supplier to appoint an outstanding Managing Director. This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected business within the FMCG sector, shape its long‑term strategic direction and drive a values‑led culture through an exciting phase of growth and transformation.
As Managing Director, you will report directly to the CEO, lead the senior team and hold full accountability for commercial performance, operational delivery and cultural leadership across the business.
The Opportunity
This role carries strategic and operational ownership across the entire organisation. You will directly manage the Production Director, Commercial Director, Financial Controller and People Advisor, while indirectly leading a large team across all functions.
This position will appeal to a commercially sharp, people‑centred leader with deep experience in the food industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the business strategy to deliver ambitious growth targets and strengthen market position
* Hold full P&L responsibility, ensuring strong financial performance and sustainable profitability
* Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing senior leadership team
* Drive operational excellence across production, commercial and support functions
* Embed a positive, values‑driven culture with high engagement and high performance
* Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers across the food ingredients landscape
* Ensure close alignment with the CEO on strategy, governance and performance
What We’re Looking For
* Significant experience within food production (supplier, manufacturer or related environment)
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, influence and empower
* Strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering growth in a dynamic market
* Financially astute, with proven experience owning full P&L responsibility
* A people‑first leader capable of driving cultural transformation and developing high‑performing teams
* Previous Managing Director experience is preferred, though outstanding senior Directors ready for the next step will also be considered
