An international manufacturing and distribution organisation is seeking a strategic, commercially minded Global Category Manager - Freight & Logistics to take ownership of a critical global spend category. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-region environment and has a proven track record in leading logistics procurement strategy. The Role Reporting into the Global Procurement function, you will: Own and develop the global strategy for Freight and Logistics procurement Manage and optimise supplier relationships and contract performance across multiple regions Drive sustainable cost reduction and value creation through data-led decision-making Work with stakeholders across global functions and regions to align objectives Support M&A integration activities, bringing acquired companies into the global logistics supply base Influence ESG and sustainability performance across the category Act as a change agent for procurement transformation across logistics and related categories Key Responsibilities Develop strategic category plans with global and regional alignment Lead tendering, negotiation, and supplier selection for freight and warehousing Build robust governance around supplier contracts, compliance, and ESG performance Deliver ongoing supplier development and relationship management Analyse global category spend and drive continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with internal teams to develop 'make vs buy' logistics strategy Act as a key point of contact for supplier escalations and performance reviews You Will Bring Essential: Procurement experience in a global category role, preferably within logistics/freight Strong project and supplier management experience Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills Strong analytical ability and experience using data to influence decisions Experience within a multinational or complex supply chain organisation Desirable: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment Procurement transformation project experience Knowledge of ESG requirements and supplier sustainability practices CIPS qualification (or equivalent) and/or degree educated Scope and Collaboration Global remit across multiple regions and business units Key collaboration with operations, supply chain, finance, legal, and commercial teams No direct reports but significant cross-functional and dotted-line influence Why Join?
