About Insight
Insight is the dynamic B2B arm of Confused.com, providing data and analytics solutions to partners in the insurance industry. We empower our partners with actionable insights to optimise their operations, improve insurer experience, and drive business growth.
About the role
As a Staff Pricing Analyst, you will be the technical engine of Insight’s analytical strategy. This is a high-level individual contributor (IC) role designed for a pricing expert who enjoys building end-to-end solutions.
You will sit at the intersection of pricing and market insight, identifying commercial opportunities within our data and building sophisticated data products for the consumption of our external partners.
You’ll work across all Insight partners to deliver business-critical analysis, facilitate technical innovation, and contribute to long-term analytical strategy. In doing so, you’ll be establishing technical best practices and ensuring our outputs deliver maximum commercial value to the insurance market.
What you'll do:
* Proactive Strategy: Shift the team’s focus by analyzing data assets to propose new strategic products and services for the insurance market.
* End-to-End Prototyping: Use technical expertise in Python and Data Science to build functional prototypes and data products from scratch.
* Consultative Analysis: Act as an internal consultant for our B2B arm, delivering high-impact solutions that help partners navigate complex pricing dynamics.
* Client Interaction: Engage with external partners to understand their data needs and present technical findings.
* Strategic Growth: Identify commercial opportunities within our datasets to drive growth for both Confused.com and our external insurance partners.
What we're looking for
* Technical Pricing Background: You must have experience working actively within a pricing team at an insurer and a deep understanding of their specific data needs.
* Motor Industry Expertise: Specialized experience in the motor insurance industry is highly preferred for this role.
* Advanced Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in Python and Data Science is essential, with the ability to build end-to-end prototypes.
* Individual Contributor Mindset: You thrive in a high-level technical role without the desire for direct reports, focusing instead on technical excellence and strategy.
* Commercial Awareness: An understanding of how insurance-adjacent companies (brokers, reinsurers, etc.) operate and consume data.
