Overview
We are recruiting motivated Registered Nurses, Midwives or Mental health nurses to undertake the NMC‑approved level 7 SCPHN programme in Health Visiting or School Nursing. This full‑time training post combines academic study with supervised practice within our community public health teams. The one‑year course will be jointly undertaken with our partner universities: Kings College, Brunel University and City St Georges University. Essential Criteria
* Must be a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)‑registered Nurse (RN), Midwife (RM) or Mental health Nurse (RMN) with active registration on part one or part two of the NMC register. (NMC PIN number should be provided within the application).
* Must hold a 2.2 or above in a Nursing Degree (UK Level 6).
* Ability to study at level 7. Applicants are expected to present clear and relevant evidence of the competencies and responsibilities detailed in the attached Job Description and Person Specification, and a demonstrated commitment to the Trust’s values of Accountability, Inclusion, Compassion and Empowerment.
Responsibilities
* Fulfil the requirements of the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing programme by attending university course dates and practice placement days in accordance with university regulations.
* Work with the service, practice assessors and supervisors to develop the skills and competencies required to achieve NMC Registration Standards for Specialist Community Practice.
* Link the theoretical knowledge gained through the university programme to the practice situation with support from the service and practice supervisors.
* Demonstrate an understanding of current and emerging national, regional and local healthcare legislation, policies and guidelines as they pertain to the chosen pathway.
* Develop and build skills of caseload and team leadership and management.
