As a Lead Engineer (multi-skilled) for a leading food manufacturer, you will be responsible for leading two shift engineers, leading projects and providing hands on PPM and OEE support to the company's Trafford Park manufacturing site.
This challenging role requires a time served/apprentice trained engineer with previous experience in a fast-paced environment. The business has multiple CapEX projects planned; so previous experience of leading projects is essential. The site is AA BRC rated; therefore candidates must have experience of working within a highly regulated/audited site.
Your responsibilities as Lead Engineer will include:
Manage the engineering shift of 2 direct reports, to provide maximum availability of all production plant and support equipment.
Implement initiatives that drive out costs, improve OEE and waste reduction.
Ensure that the engineering team operates to maximise machine uptime, planned maintenance, health and safety, quality culture, hygiene, and budgetary requirements.
Carry out PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance across the factory.
Your Profile:
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical Bias or Multi skilled) -
NVQ or C&G Level 3, with demonstrable mechanical & electrical maintenance skills
Proven leadership and team management expertise
Experience in managing contractors and issuing permit-to-work procedures
Proficiency in using maintenance management software (CMMS)
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
