Phonics Teaching Assistant - Salford
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who feels confident delivering Phonics sessions to students in Early Years and KS1? This two-form entry Primary school requires a Teaching Assistant to work with students in KS1 with strong experience in Phonics. Ideally you will have experience working with and using Jolly Phonics, Letter & Sounds and/or Read Write Inc. You will lead Intervention groups and work with SEND students so you may need a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
Responsibilities
* Lead intervention groups for Early Years and KS1, focusing on phonics and literacy development.
* Support pupils with reading, writing and maths interventions, differentiating work to meet academic levels.
* Utilise phonics programs (e.g., Jolly Phonics, Letter & Sounds, Read Write Inc.) to support targeted learning.
* Work with SEND pupils and collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
* Proven track record of supporting pupils in Early Years and KS1, including academic interventions in reading, writing or maths.
* Strong language and literacy skills; ability to engage pupils and differentiate tasks by ability.
* Clear understanding of phonics and ability to apply it in a classroom setting.
* Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
* Have the legal right to work in the UK.
