Product designer
Rate: £300-£400 Outside IR35
Contract Length: 6 Months
1 day in office in either London with monthly trip to Yorkshire office.
We are seeking a skilled Product Designer to join our team on a contract basis in London, Greater London, United Kingdom, offering a day rate of £300–£400. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative and open digital environment, focused around UX/UI excellence and improving end-to-end customer experiences.
In this role, you will take the lead in shaping the UX and UI of our website, with a primary focus on the redesign of navigation and key web components. You’ll be involved in enhancing the site’s usability through considered user-centric design thinking, particularly with a focus on conversion rate optimisation (CRO). This will include working on new design elements for the blog, onboarding flows, PR campaign forms around solar savings, and improving overall customer journeys from discovery to conversion.
You will work closely with frontend engineers to hand over designs and ensure seamless implementation, using Figma to map out flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes. Experience in A/B testing and taking a data-informed approach to design changes is essential, as is the ability to take decisions from a technical and design perspective. We're looking for someone who is communicative, can clearly articulate progress and challenges, and effectively manage expectations across the team.
A practical mindset is key—we value designers who not only provide great ideas but are also hands-on with seeing their vision through to execution. You will be expected to demonstrate how you have previously taken on design challenges, improved UX, and contributed directly to measurable outcomes. Your ability to understand the technical constraints and capabilities of web platforms and to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be critical.
This is a role for a generalist UX/UI designer who is passionate about improving digital products. You will need a strong portfolio showcasing user-centric design, proficiency in Figma, knowledge of web design principles, and a proven ability to enhance user journeys that drive improved conversion rates. While there is no current in-house design resource, you’ll be expected to quickly find your feet, leveraging existing team expertise across digital marketing and product functions.
* The interview process includes two stages: an initial interview with the Head of Digital Marketing and a team member, followed by a final interview with the Head of Product. One of these may be face-to-face depending on scheduling and availability.
