ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Stock Controller to join our Warehouse team. This is a crucial, hands-on role that requires a strong sense of ownership and accountability for all stock within the business. You will spend the majority of your time on the warehouse floor and in various storage areas (including chilled and frozen environments), ensuring our physical stock and systems are perfectly aligned.
Reporting to the Production & Warehouse Manager, you will be the single point of accountability for inventory accuracy, working closely with our existing Goods-In & Inventory Operative and other departments. Your other key responsibilities will include:
Inventory Control:
* Take full ownership of all stock within the business. This includes managing our physical inventory as well as ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our Warehouse Management System, Linnworks.
* Maintain accurate stock levels for all raw materials, finished goods, and packaging.
* Conduct regular, accurate stock counts and lead the investigation into any discrepancies, reporting and resolving issues promptly.
* Implement and maintain control measures to prevent inventory errors and discrepancies.
Warehouse Operations:
* Oversee all goods-in processes, verifying received items against purchase orders and liaising with suppliers to resolve any issues.
* Provide hands-on support with general warehouse activities as required, including stock rotation (FIFO) and ensuring the warehouse is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Data & Systems Management:
* Maintain our WMS, Linnworks, on a daily basis to ensure the system accurately reflects our on-site stock levels and movements.
* Maintain detailed records and compile weekly reports on stock levels, usage, and waste.
* Work closely with the Production, Despatch, and Operations teams to manage stock movements and provide day-to-day support.
ABOUT YOU
* Previous hands-on experience in a stock control or inventory management role, preferably within a bakery or food production environment.
* A proven ability to regularly perform stock counts and take ownership and accountability for stock accuracy.
* Proficient with inventory management systems; experience with Linnworks is a significant advantage.
* Strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Comfortable performing physical warehouse duties, including lifting and working in ambient, chilled, and frozen environments.
* A flexible approach to working hours, including the potential for early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekend work.
* Familiarity with HACCP and UK Food Safety standards.
* A valid forklift licence is ideal but not required, as full training will be provided.
