Job Details
As a Childcare Practitioner you will be expected to:
* Plan, facilitate and supervise a wide range of play-based activities and social experiences both in and outdoors. This will include setting up the play space to ensure it is safe, stimulating and welcoming.
* Empower children to lead their own play, guiding them on as needed to boost their creativity and independence.
* Support children to prepare healthy snacks in line with dietary and nutritional need and guidelines.
* Support and encourage children to build confidence, self-esteem, and lifelong skills through play and exploration.
* Deal with accidents and incidents, responding calmly and professional, ensuring children's health and wellbeing needs are met.
The Person
We are therefore looking for someone who:
* is fun, engaging and has experience of working with children and young people of all ages.
* holds a relevant childcare qualification, or is willing to work towards one as required by the Scottish Social Services Council
* is reliable, has good communication skills and can work as part of a team

* Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain a Level 2 Disclosure with PVG. This will be actioned as part of your pre-employment checks.
* As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
* If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
* If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
