My client in Northampton is looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This opportunity has arisen due to internal changes and an increased demand for environmental health services across the district.
You'll be involved in a range of duties including:
* Food safety inspections and enforcement
* Health and safety at work investigations
* Responding to statutory nuisance complaints
* Supporting housing inspections under HHSRS
* Advising on licensing and planning applications from an environmental health perspective
This is a full-time role (37 hours per week), with a blend of remote working and on-site visits across the borough. Flexibility is available for the right candidate, especially around working patterns and location.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* Degree or diploma in Environmental Health
* Registration with CIEH or equivalent professional body
* Competency to carry out food hygiene inspections (CPD and relevant qualifications)
* Previous experience working within a local authority setting
