Role: Health, Safety and Environment Manager
Company: Fast Paced and Complex Manufacturing Company
Salary: up to GBP 65,000 per annum, DOE, GBP 5,500 car allowance, bonus, PHC and 25 days holiday.
Location: Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire

Due to recent and significant upcoming investment, we are seeking a strong Health, Safety, and Environment professional to sit within the senior leadership team, drive safety excellence, and manage 3 direct reports. Reporting directly to the Head of HSE with a dotted line to the Site Plant Manager.
Main Responsibilities
* Be the site expert, capable of handling complex situations and taking ownership of outcomes and deliverables both in role and as a leader.
* Facilitate change and be involved in diverse projects to improve safety and behaviors at the site, dealing with technical complexity.
* Play a key role in upcoming strategic projects and significant investment programs at the site.
* Support the implementation of company HSE policies and embed ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards.
* Conduct risk profiling and management based on site risk assessments, including Fire, Machinery Safety, DSEAR, and Maintenance.
* Engage, communicate, and be proactive and visible on the shop floor to support improvements in HSE, behaviors, and culture.
* Develop and implement procedures to ensure legal compliance in operations and projects, with involvement in strategy change and growth initiatives.
* Build capabilities through coaching and engagement to foster a positive safety culture at all levels.
* Track HSE performance indicators and compliance data, develop annual strategic plans for continuous improvement, and ensure legal compliance.
* Prioritize site key loss opportunities, manage HSE and facilities budgets, and oversee capital allocations.
* Take initiative, be energetic, and influence as a member of the leadership team, handling complex situations as site expert and leader.
* Manage outsourced services (waste management, PPE providers, etc.), liaise with regulatory bodies, customers, and auditors regarding safety and environmental management.
* Work proactively with internal and external project managers and contractors.
* Be a key member of the site leadership team and regional HSE team in the UK.
* Support HR and Training functions and occupational health issues.
* Maintain daily contact with operational colleagues.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
* Strong manufacturing experience, preferably in food, drink, dairy, paper, packaging, bakery, or tobacco industries.
* Proven management experience with coaching and mentoring skills.
