A vacancy at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will administer the Lead Employer training programmes and organise quality assurance and improvement for doctors, ensuring compliance with NHSE requirements and production of timely assessment and documentation. The role also involves implementation, application and reimbursement of Study Leave and Medical Work Experience. Working with the Lead Employer and the Trust Human Resources team, the holder will plan and co‑coordinate doctor rotations across the Trust and deliver associated training and education, including Trust and speciality inductions.

The Medical Education Senior Administrator will be part of a proactive team delivering effective high‑quality education and training programmes for junior doctors.
The post holder will support delivery, organisation and quality assurance of core & speciality training programmes, ensuring thorough audit of medical educational activity within the Trust. Responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivery of Trust & Speciality Inductions for junior doctors and successful implementation of study leave for medical staff.
* Providing advanced administrative support to the HoME, Programme Leads, Training Programme Directors and other senior members of the Medical Education team.
* Maintaining databases, collating information, and evaluating teaching programmes and learning events, including CT/ST, GPST, IMT, and MWEP.
* Co‑ordinating and evaluating GPST out‑of‑hours rota and ensuring adequate induction for out‑of‑hours work.
* Co‑ordinating and evaluating the Trust and speciality induction programmes (July/August, December, February, April) to meet deanery and Trust requirements.
* Serving as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day matters relating to Lead Employer trainees’ postgraduate education, escalating to the HoME when necessary.
* Providing data and reports to the HoME for the Trainee Medical Education Committee, preparing action plans and progress reports.
* Maintaining accurate records of teaching attendance and escalating concerns.
* Co‑ordinating Trust monitoring visits from HEE, ensuring relevant evidence and data is available.
* Collaborating with the Undergraduate Administration, Rota Coordinators and other departments to streamline practices and integrate postgraduate and undergraduate functions.
* Handling sensitive and confidential information responsibly and escalating matters appropriately.
* Assisting and guiding the Clerical Assistant to co‑coordinate the onboarding process for the Medical Work Experience Programme, liaising with external local colleges and internal Trust departments.
* Maintaining efficient office procedures and systems for audit and quality assurance.
* Managing workload independently, seeking advice when appropriate and supporting colleagues during periods of absence.
* Providing timely information to the Head of Medical Education, Library Services, Medical Education Manager and Director for inclusion in the annual report to the deanery.
* Establishing and maintaining an accurate, confidential filing system for easy retrieval of files and information.
* Overseeing the implementation, application and reimbursement of study leave for medical staff, ensuring new Consultants, SAS and Locally Employed doctors are aware of entitlements.
* Serving as the main point of contact for study leave queries, managing the Tracker2 electronic system, processing applications and pulling system reports.
* Keeping current awareness of NHS issues and national health policy, and participating in Trust‑wide initiatives.
* Identifying personal training and development needs and undertaking appropriate training and education.
* Maintaining confidentiality at all times in accordance with NHS and professional codes.
* Carrying out additional duties in accordance with grade and role nature.
* Representing the Trust at regional meetings on speciality training and maintaining close working links with NHSE staff.
* Contacting new locally employed doctors to request information so study leave/funding can be accessed equitably.
* Providing cover for evening and weekend meetings on a rota basis.
* Ordering non‑stock items and ensuring effective use of resources within the role.
* Devolved responsibility for individual study leave allowances and ensuring processes and policies are followed in application and claims of study leave budgets for medical staff.
