The Live-in Carer is responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred care and continuous support to an individual within their own home environment. They promote the client’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being while enabling independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
* Assist with personal care and promote client independence.
* Support with meals, mobility, and household tasks as outlined in the care plan.
* Administer or support medication and maintain accurate records.
* Offer companionship, emotional support, and encourage social and recreational engagement.
* Support safe movement within the home and accompany the client to appointments, social activities, or errands when required.
* Maintain care records, report health changes promptly, and adhere to organisational policies and safeguarding standards.
* Demonstrate professionalism and respect, uphold data protection, and participate in ongoing training.
* Work safely, following risk assessments, infection control, and manual handling procedures.
* Follow Medicines Act 1968 and Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and administer medicines safely.
* Follow CQC Fundamental Standards and NICE guidelines.
* Maintain a full commitment to health & safety, regulatory compliance, and professional conduct.
Qualifications
* DBS clearance required.
* No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
* Full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle access.
* Proven experience in providing compassionate, person-centred care to individuals living with dementia.
* Must be able to live on-site and provide consistent care in accordance with agreed working patterns, demonstrating flexibility to meet client needs.
