Join Shropshire’s UASC and Pathway’s team, dedicated to supporting young people aged 16+ who are in care or unaccompanied, as they transition to independence. This role involves fulfilling statutory responsibilities for looked-after children while advancing immigration applications and collaborating with specialist services to secure legal status. The position offers a diverse caseload, including both UASC and non-UASC young people, with a primary focus on planning pathways to adulthood. We seek social workers experienced in UASC and CLA, capable of creatively achieving permanence for older looked-after youth. You will be part of an Outstanding Local Authority, benefiting from a stable team environment, regular reflective supervision, and consistent management oversight.
Responsibilities:
* Fulfill statutory duties for looked-after children.
* Progress immigration applications for unaccompanied minors.
* Collaborate with specialist services to secure legal status for children.
* Manage a mixed caseload of UASC and non-UASC young people.
