HVAC Mechanical Design Opportunity – Outside IR35 We currently have a requirement for a HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer, the position is working for a leading engineering business based in the Manchester area, this position offers long term work as an outside IR35 contractor. If you have experience working on HVAC Packages (Ductwork, chilled water pipework, bracketry, small steel structures) please read on. You will provide independent Mechanical Design Services to support large scales Nuclear projects, this position can offer an immediate start and a generous hourly rate. HVAC Mechanical Design Project Requirements: * Produce high quality drawings focusing on HVAC, Chilled Water pipework and small structural steelwork. * Technical advice on constructability, manufacturability and integration of supports. * Independent review and technical feedback on supplier technical design submittals. * Recommendations on opportunities to simplify, standardise or modularise designs to improve efficiency and reduce costs. * Sharing of best practice/lessons learned between project teams to support consistent design. * Review and commenting on 3rd party fabrication drawings and technical submittals. * Provide calculations for HVAC installations. HVAC Mechanical Design Qualifications and experience: * Mechanical Design Engineer background with proven experience in HVAC supports, bracketry and small structural steel. * Familiar with chilled water system design and integration of mechanical supports. * Proficient in relevant design software (AutoCAD, PDMS, Tekla or similar). * Experience in the Nuclear/Defence sector would be desirable.
