The Role:
The Education Engagement Officer (EHE) will play a crucial role within the Education Access Team, working to support educational outcomes for our EHE children and young people, with a particular focus on supporting Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) families. Working closely with Schools, families and partner agencies you will work to identify barriers to learning and support families to overcome these.
The role of Education Engagement Officer (EHE) will require the postholder to work collaboratively with external agencies to promote effective practice and show a commitment to Safeguarding and welfare of all children and young people as a priority.
This post will involve offering support and guidance to families and Schools and will be central to the Local Authority fulfilling their statutory duties around EHE exclusions, ensuring that all children are receiving the education to which they are entitled.
