We’re looking for a Hire Assistant with machinery experience to join our busy Hire Department at our Norwich Depot. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers get the right equipment for the job—whether that’s agricultural tractors, construction plant, or specialist GroundsCare machinery.
If you have hands-on experience working with machinery—whether through hire, operation, servicing, or sales—and want to combine that knowledge with excellent customer service, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
* Acting as the first point of contact for hire customers, confidently providing accurate technical and operational information on machinery.
* Supporting the hire process from initial enquiry and quotations through to contract completion and invoicing.
* Coordinating the preparation of machinery before hire, ensuring it is in full working order and ready for use.
* Inspecting and checking equipment upon return, identifying and logging any damage or maintenance needs.
* Assisting with invoicing to ensure timely and accurate billing of hires.

* Proven experience working with agricultural, construction, or GroundsCare machinery—either through hire, operation, service, or related roles.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with customers and colleagues.
* Strong organisational abilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Attention to detail when completing hire processes and carrying out machinery checks.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
