Job Title: Lead Business Analyst
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join our team in Edinburgh. The aim is to ensure that user stories and acceptance criteria consistently reflect business value rather than system solutions, ultimately increasing throughput into engineering and unblocking delivery.
Responsibilities
1. Act as a User Story & Acceptance Criteria specialist, focusing on business value rather than system solutions.
2. Coach, guide, support, and challenge Business Analysts to improve analysis outputs.
3. Review large volumes of user stories and acceptance criteria.
4. Engage with BAs during their thought and writing process.
5. Provide supportive but firm feedback to align outputs with business guidance.
6. Reduce the need for constant quality checks by management.
7. Increase flow and throughput into engineering by improving analysis quality at source.
Essential Skills
8. Strong business focus with a deep understanding of business value.
9. Ability to think from an advisor, customer, and commercial perspective.
10. Experience in workplace pensions, understanding advisors, schemes, and business context.
11. Comfortable giving feedback and challenging established habits.
12. Ability to influence and coach analysts at any level.
13. Pragmatic awareness of tools like Jira and Confluence.

14. Experience in a scaled agile work environment.
15. Hands-on Experience in a fast-paced setting.
