An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Chef to work in a reputable care home based in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The role involves working for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers in a warm and welcoming environment that offers residential and dementia care.
Minimum Requirements: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Food Preparation and Catering.
Key Duties:
1. Menu planning in consultation with residents and the manager.
2. Preparation, cooking, and serving of food according to menus.
3. Display of menus with choices.
4. Catering for individuals on special diets or with cultural needs, ensuring options are available.
5. Checking stock quality and quantity, and ordering supplies as per catering manual.
6. Supervision of kitchen staff.
7. Adherence to HACCP processes and catering manual, with proper documentation.
8. Managing food expenditure within budget in coordination with the Bursar and/or Home Manager.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Chef, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
* Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various techniques.
* Understanding of nutrition and menu development for dietary needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
Benefits:
* Salary of GBP14.00/hour, totaling GBP29,120 annually.
* Permanent full-time role, 40 hours/week, days only.
