JSS are delighted to be supporting an insurer based in south London with finding an experienced Finance Manager to lead the month-end close process, ensure accurate statutory reporting, and provide operational support across the finance team. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong technical expertise, and the ability to maintain compliance in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities
* Own the month-end process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journals, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Prepare management accounts and variance analysis for leadership review.
* Maintain integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
* Prepare annual statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP and liaise with external auditors.
* Ensure compliance with FCA and other regulatory requirements.
* Manage tax filings and support VAT returns.
* Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate submissions to HMRC.
* Assist with expense management and process improvements.
* Maintain robust internal controls and implement process enhancements.
* Monitor cash flow and support treasury activities.
* Act as a key point of contact for auditors, banks, and external partners.
* Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and operational support.
Experience/ Qualifications
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
* Prior experience in insurance or an FCA regulated environment - essential.
* Strong experience in month-end close, statutory accounts preparation, and audit liaison.
* Knowledge of UK GAAP and regulatory FCA compliance.
* Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
