We’re looking for someone passionate about developing talent and supporting career pathways to join our Recruitment and Retention Team within the People & Culture directorate for a 12-month maternity cover. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of our apprenticeship and early careers programmes and help shape the future workforce.
What you’ll do:
1. Support the delivery of the Council’s apprenticeship and early careers programme.
2. Manage the Apprenticeship Service levy account and ensure compliance with funding rules.
3. Advise managers and HR teams on apprenticeship standards, recruitment, and progression.
4. Provide pastoral support and monitor apprentice performance.
5. Promote early careers opportunities such as work experience, supported internships, and T Levels.
6. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Monitor performance data and contribute to workforce development strategies.

Interviews will take place on 2nd February 2026 at County Hall in Exeter. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and offers agile working, with at least two days per week at County Hall, Exeter and occasional travel across Devon.
