Kitchen Fitter FTC! Due to continued successful growth at Fortem, we are seeking an experienced Kitchen Fitter to join our new Planned Works team at Amplius Housing in Rushden, Northamptonshire. This role involves ripping out and reinstalling new kitchens in Amplius social housing properties. You will work directly for Fortem on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The package includes a company van, fuel card, power tools, uniform, and PPE.
As an experienced Kitchen Fitter, you will work efficiently to fully reinstall planned kitchens, meeting deadlines and budgets. You will ensure all work is completed to a high standard with minimal supervision, taking ownership of your tasks, and operating within health and safety guidelines while maintaining professionalism on site.
The Customer
Fortem’s contract with Amplius supports nearly 8,000 homes, with expectations to increase significantly in 2025. The contract covers Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works, FRA, Planned Works, and Preventative Maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Complete full kitchen refits and installations for the planned works team, adhering to deadlines and budgets.
* Advise supervisors when other trades are needed.
* Collaborate with other operatives to complete projects.
* Record and submit accurate data using relevant electronic systems and devices.
* Provide excellent customer service to client representatives.
* Arrange procurement of materials to ensure efficient project delivery.
* Comply with safeguarding policies and health & safety standards.
* Operate within company policies on occupational road risk.
* Use a PDA smartphone to communicate daily updates on work progress.
What you will need
* NVQ/qualifications in carpentry, plumbing, or equivalent; experienced kitchen fitters will also be considered.
* Full driving license (maximum of 5 points).
* Desirable: experience in social housing.
