A Commis Chef is responsible for assisting other kitchen staff. Their primary duties include food preparation, serving customers, cleaning the kitchen, & equipment. Main duties and purpose of the role : Supporting the senior chefs in the kitchen with the preparation of food, cleaning tasks. Maintaining a clean section Managing stock levels on the section. Assisting with food service and the close down at the end of your shift. Occasionally supporting the Kitchen Porters with their duties Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers Learning and Development, following instructions from the senior chefs The above is a non-exhaustive list of duties and you are expected to undertake any other duties as requested by your Manager.
