This specialist school in Wigan is recruiting for a School Youth Worker, supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone driven to improve outcomes for young people from disadvantaged or challenging backgrounds.
As a School Youth Worker, you will provide pastoral, behavioural and emotional support both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will help students engage with education, develop positive relationships, and build the skills needed to succeed beyond school. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about youth work, behaviour support, SEMH education, and safeguarding looking to make a positive impact in children’s lives and help shape their future.
Requirements (Please Apply Only If You Meet the Below)
To be successful in this School Youth Worker role, you will have:
1. Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults, particularly within SEMH, challenging behaviour or youth justice settings
2. A calm, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs
3. Strong empathy, communication and relationship-building skills, with a proactive and reliable attitude
4. A genuine commitment to improving young people’s wellbeing and educational outcomes in a school or alternative provision environment
5. Right to work in the UK and the ability to provide two professional references
