Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with the ability to supervise and manage kitchen staff effectively. Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed effectively.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
* Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.
* Train new staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety protocols.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
Experience
* Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Supervising experience is essential, with demonstrated leadership abilities in managing a team.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is crucial for maintaining health regulations.
* Previous hospitality experience will be considered an asset.
