We are seeking a Head of Philanthropy to join a leading cultural organisation for a 9-month maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee an established team and drive major giving strategies within a dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities
The Head of Philanthropy will be responsible for overseeing an established team who manage distinct areas of Individual Giving and Trust and Foundation fundraising. In addition, this role has a personal responsibility for leading and progressing the organisation’s major giving strategy, with a particular focus on individual giving.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead the development, planning, recruitment and stewardship strategy for U/HNW philanthropy prospects, donors and funders.
* Responsibility for achieving major giving, schematic giving and Trusts & Foundations income targets.
* Oversight of the Patrons and Auteurs Circle schematic giving programmes, supporting the Philanthropy Managers to deliver their strategies.
* Oversight of Trust and Foundation activity, supporting the Philanthropy Manager to deliver their strategy.
Person Specifications
* A demonstrable track record of success in fundraising from individuals and/or Trusts with a focus on major giving.
* Experience of working in a senior management role within arts fundraising.
* Experience of working to targets and motivating others to achieve them.
* A demonstrable knowledge of charity legislation and its application to fundraising endeavours.
* Knowledge of using a fundraising database, ideally Raiser’s Edge

* A salary of £51,000-£60,000 FTE
