Job purpose: A Private hire Mini cab driver is responsible for driving their own passenger-carrying vehicle and providing good customer service and a safe and comfortable journey throughout the network of HATS home-to-school services.

About The Role
Main duties:
* Ensure safety and wellbeing of clients throughout the journey and handover.
* Ensure that high visibility PPE is always worn in vehicle movement areas.
* Ensure that speed limits are observed within bus depots and school premises.
Check the condition of the vehicle prior to commencing service by:
* Ensuring that the vehicle is clean and tidy before starting service.
* Complying with laws and company regulations regarding the use of mobile phones, smoking in vehicles, and the use of prohibited equipment (such as games consoles) whilst on duty.
* Being responsible for health, safety, security, welfare, environmental, and fire safety arrangements for yourself, customers, and colleagues.
This includes attendance at safety briefings and training as required, reporting safety incidents, understanding emergency and evacuation plans, and maintaining a safe and tidy cab area. Providing high standards of customer service, informing customers of relevant information, behaving professionally, and assisting vulnerable groups are also key responsibilities. Driving safely, adhering to timetables, staying informed about road conditions, and ensuring valid licenses are held at all times are essential duties.
A driver must ensure their licenses are valid, up-to-date, and communicated to management if there are changes. They must report for work punctually, follow dress codes, avoid working under the influence, and report incidents or incidents affecting service promptly. Feedback for service improvement and adherence to policies are also required. Flexibility in working hours and outdoor environment work are part of the role, with a focus on safety and efficiency in all weather and traffic conditions.
