Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as an Agricultural Feed Nutritionist / Technical Support, to provide technical and nutritional leadership that supports commercial growth and drives product development and innovation. The role aims to strengthen customer relationships, advances research collaborations and contributes to sustainability initiatives across our UK customers and wider business. The role provides development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced agricultural commodities industry.

Business Overview

ED&F Man Liquid Products is the leading global supplier in molasses, molasses blends and related liquid products as well as dry products for primarily the animal feed, fertilizer and fermentation industries. We are a pioneer as well as a trader in liquid agricultural by- and co-products. We offer expertise in animal nutrition and liquid storage and feeding solutions to farmers. We work closely with feed manufacturers, farmers and other end users to provide quality products from sustainable sources. Our capability includes sourcing, shipping, storage and distribution of molasses, molasses blends and other sugar co-products, as well as vegetable and fish oils.
We are part of ED&F Man Commodities, a world leading trader of agricultural products including coffee, sugar, molasses and animal feed.

Key Accountabilities

Delivering technical support and advice to customers and merchant sales teams to enhance product knowledge and maximise sales opportunities.
Supporting commercial managers by providing technical and nutritional expertise through product training, seasonal sales presentations, newsletters and the development of marketing materials and literature.
Identifying new research opportunities and collaborating with external companies and universities to design, set up and manage trial work.
Presenting and communicating research results and findings to diverse audiences including farmer meetings and sales teams and through the submission of academic papers for peer review at national and international conferences.
Attending industry conferences and events to stay up to date with relevant developments as well as assisting with stand preparation and representing the company directly to customers.
Leading new product development initiatives taking concepts from laboratory scale to full production.
Assessing the chemical compatibility of new additives with existing products to create enhanced formulations and new commercial opportunities.
Organising marketing campaigns with relevant industry publishers and finalising all PR and editorial content.
Working closely with quality and formulation departments to maintain competitive on-farm pricing while protecting business margins.
Serving as a collaborative member of the UK and European sustainability teams sourcing and sharing innovative ideas to implement initiatives that create a more sustainable business environment across the region.

Skills and Experience

Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science or an Agricultural related discipline is essential.
2+ years experience within the agricultural industry, ideally with good exposure to animal feed and nutrition..
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities and support sales performance.
Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and collaborate with commercial and other cross-functional teams.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to research, interpret, and clearly communicate technical information to varied audiences.
Strong presentation and written communication skills, including preparation of technical reports and marketing materials.
Detail-oriented, analytical, and results-driven approach to problem solving.
Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
