The department comprises over 100 fee earners across several well-established offices and is recognised for its work with high-net-worth individuals and international clients. The Oxford office is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor, Legal Director, or Partner to join and help lead a thriving team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to take on a leadership role within a growing and reputable practice. The Role: You will manage your own caseload of complex private client matters while also playing a key role in mentoring junior fee earners and contributing to the strategic direction of the team. Depending on experience, this position offers the opportunity to step into a Legal Director or Fixed Share Partner role. Key Responsibilities: Manage a broad range of Private Client matters, including: Preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney for UK and international clients Estate planning, including lifetime and post-death planning involving inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax advice Estate administration, including obtaining grants of probate or letters of administration, dealing with foreign domicile, re-sealing of grants and intestate estates Preparation of deeds of variation, gifts and family arrangements Advising on the creation, management and administration of trusts, working alongside the firm's dedicated Trust Administration team Oversee and develop the Oxford Private Client team (currently five or more fee earners) Deliver technical advisory work to high-net-worth clients and maintain high professional standards Manage team performance, workflow and client service delivery Work collaboratively with senior management on strategic goals and practice development through internal referrals rather than external BD Prospects: Clear progression path from Legal Director to Partner based on performance and contribution Exposure to long-standing, prestigious client relationships to include high-value private clients About You: Solid background in Private Client law, ideally at Senior Associate, Legal Director, or Partner level STEP qualified (preferred) Strong technical knowledge of wills, trusts, tax and estate planning Proven experience managing or mentoring junior team members Excellent communication, relationship-building and client care skills Ambitious, commercially aware and keen to play a key role in the continued success of the Oxford Private Client practice INDCATS
