Electrical Building Services Engineer
Our client, a multi-disciplinary property and construction company based in Nottingham, is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Building Services Engineer with an electrical bias to join their team. This role can be filled by either an Intermediate or Senior level engineer.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working from 08:30 to 17:00.
The engineer will provide engineering support to the practice, specializing in M&E engineering in the built environment, including design and project management responsibilities.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Ensuring all projects meet high technical standards, deadlines, and budgets.
* Participating in fee-earning activities, including scheme design where high-level expertise is required.
* Completing tasks assigned by the team leader, including engineering formation and cost-effective solutions.
* Meeting with clients to establish project briefs and budgets.
* Drawing detailed specifications and drawings based on client briefs.
* Reviewing tenders, preparing reports, and making recommendations.
* Managing site works from start to finish.
* Monitoring site work compliance and finalizing contractor accounts.
* Inspecting existing installations and submitting condition reports.
* Preparing and checking fee invoicing monthly.
* Achieving annual and monthly fee targets as directed.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* A degree or master's in Engineering.
* Membership in the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or The Energy Institute (or equivalents) – preferable.
* Chartered Engineer status or close to achieving it.
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines.
* Experience with IES (Mechanical) or Amtech (Electrical) design software.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations, and best practices.
