We are looking for an enthusiastic Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiographer to join our multidisciplinary team on a fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave. Our Nuclear Medicine and PET CT departments are spread across two sites: Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital. The successful candidates would be expected to cover workload across both sites on a rotational basis. We do not have an onsite radiopharmacy, our radiopharmaceuticals are provided to us by an external supplier. The trust wide PET/CT service is based at Charing Cross Hospital and utilises a Siemens Biograph Vision scanner. Our PET CT service includes 18F-FDG, 68Ga-Dotatate, 68Ga-PSMA, 18F-Choline, 18F-Amyloid studies and numerous research studies using a wide range of radioisotopes. At Hammersmith Hospital there are two Siemens Intevo Bold SPECT CT scanners which provide a wide variety of hybrid imaging as well as supporting an ever expanding therapy service. Examples of these are bone, parathyroid, stress and rest myocardial perfusion, DAT scans, 177Lutetium, SIRT and Therasphere therapies. The successful post holder would be joining an exceptional team who have shared values and provide high quality patient care. We work collaboratively to consistently improve our services, as well as supporting staff to develop and explore their own interests within the nuclear medicine field.,
Responsibilities
* Perform Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures according to Trust, Departmental and statutory regulations.
* Assist with the co-ordination of the day to day organisation of the assigned area of work.
* Assess the quality of examination data and advise junior staff/students as required.
* Rotate on all sites to be able to undertake all the specialist services offered within Nuclear Medicine.
* To use the equipment and accessories correctly, reporting any faults through the appropriate channels.
* To be conversant with the department computer systems and ensure that accurate records are maintained.
* To participate in database housekeeping as required.
* To participate in audit and quality control programmes.
* To ensure that Radiation Protection regulations and local rules are strictly adhered to.
* Provision of clinical information to the patient whilst interpreting, negotiating and adapting the procedure as applicable to that patient.
