The role
An established planning and development consultancy is seeking an Assistant Town Planner to Town Planner - Strategic Land to join its growing Strategic Land and Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner to gain exposure to a wide range of strategic land projects across the UK while developing their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the promotion of strategic land opportunities through the planning system.
- Assisting with Local Plan representations, Call for Sites submissions and planning appraisals.
- Undertaking planning policy research and site assessments.
- Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
- Liaising with clients, local authorities and external consultants.
- Supporting project delivery across a diverse portfolio of residential, employment and mixed-use schemes.
About You
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Working towards MRTPI accreditation or keen to pursue chartership.
- Previous planning experience within consultancy, local authority or development preferred.
- Good understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy.
- Strong communication, analytical and report-writing skills.
- Proactive, organised and eager to develop a career in strategic land.
