Job title: Pastoral Manager

Salary: NJC 12 - 15 + well-being cash plan + pension scheme + additional Lift Schools benefits

Hours: Full Time, 37hrs

Contract type: Fixed term (initially until July 18th 2026)

Your new school

The Rawlett School is part of Lift Schools, a MAT of 57 schools with 10 in the Midlands, which allows you access to the best training programmes available as well as more internal opportunities. The Rawlett School is a secondary school led by a dedicated and ambitious Executive Principal, Jasmine Woodard. The school are on a transformational journey and Jasmine has a track record of successfully delivering this. Jasmine is now looking for ambitious staff to be part of this incredibly rewarding, yet challenging, journey and this is an opportunity for you to be part of that as we look to recruit a Pastoral Manager.

Your new role

You will join the pastoral team which is made up of 13 hard working individuals and you’ll be responsible for supporting year 10. You will play a vital role in supporting the Senior Leadership Team to build and maintain a disciplined, yet caring ethos across the school. You will promote and support positive behaviour and high levels of attendance from students, and develop and deliver strategies to improve pastoral care across the school. You will liaise with students, staff, teachers, families, and agencies where required, and will support teachers to provide consistent pastoral care to students within year 10.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

You will be confident in communicating and fostering good relationships with a range of people including pupils, staff, teachers, families, and agencies where required. You will have experience in behaviour management strategies to encourage positive behaviour and be able to motivate pupils and promote high expectations. You will also have experience of intervention programmes that accelerate progress and a commitment to raising attainment and safeguarding vulnerable young people. You will need to have a GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4-9) or equivalent.

The role is due to commence ASAP. This is initially a fixed term contract but we are hopeful it will be extended or made permanent.
