DOMESTIC ESTATE COUPLE, BRUTON SOMERSET, £80,000-£90,000 Role: Estate Couple (Housekeeper/Cook & Groundsman/Handyman) Days: 5 Days per week Hours: 45 hours per week Location: Bruton, Somerset Salary: £80,000-£90,000 Contract: Permanent Accommodation: A newly renovated one-bedroom cottage Start: Flexible We are seeking an experienced and flexible Domestic Couple for a recently refurbished Estate property in Bruton, Somerset The Couple (comprising Housekeeper/Cook & Groundsman/Handyman ) will offer sole charge management of a large 6-bedroom house and maintenance of garden (and 3 cottages, pool & outbuildings). The Family are London-based so tend to use the residence occasionally, on weekends and for extended breaks. This is a full-time Live-in position, 5 days per week with weekends off (except when family are in residence when working flexibly around their schedule is expected) The Couple should be active and motivated whilst being discreet and hands-on - able oversee all aspects of running the property, ensuring the highest standards and meticulous attention to detail. The Family are unable to accommodate any dependents, and this is a non-smoking household. Dog and pet care is also required for this role Housekeeper Duties include: Cooking and Meal Preparation (p reparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner when family are in-residence) Managing online and local food shopping Cleaning to a high standard throughout the property Caring for delicate art pieces, specialist finishes, silverware, china, antiques, and other items Organizing and taking care of all household laundry, linens, and wardrobe management Setting tables and serving food and drinks Greeting and serving guests Wine cellar management Groundsman/Handyman duties include: Gardening - Watering, Weeding, trimming, mulching, and maintaining hedgerows and trees and mowing lawns to a high standard. Also assisting with landscaping or planting projects, while taking initiative with new greenery. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the property grounds Ensuring the welfare and care of animals, including feeding, walking, vet appointments, and overall care of the familys dogs Handyman duties including general household repairs Chauffeuring the family, and washing and polishing prestige cars Experience (and the relevant certification) for working with chainsaws and familiarity with other agricultural machinery Managing the heat system, fire and security systems, CCTV/Intercom systems and Pool maintenance Liaising with contractors and tradespeople Media system management (Sky, Netflix, Amazon, etc.) Lifting and operating heavy equipment, and storing and caring for garden and pool furniture Cleaning entrances, poolside areas, and removing dirt from walkways, pavements, and driveways Performing daily checks on plant rooms and estate security systems (CCTV, intercom, fire systems) To apply for this role you must; Be eligible to work in the UK Be fluent in the English Language Have a full clean UK driving license Have a valid DBS check or be willing to obtain one Have excellent contactable references Have 5 years experience working as a Couple within a private household
