Artist in Residence
Hours of Work: 4.5-7.5 hours per week, term time only (flexibility on days/hours)
Salary: Up to £25.39 per hour, dependant on experience
Location: Sunninghill, near Ascot, Berkshire
Set in beautiful woodlands in the village of Sunninghill, near Ascot, The Marist School is a leading independent Catholic day school for girls aged 2 ½ to 18.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Artist in Residence to support our specialised Art staff in delivering a broad, dynamic, and ambitious Art curriculum. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting lessons, maintaining materials and equipment, and will run two specialised clubs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day to day technical support within the Art Department, including preparation of materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring workspaces are safe and well-organised.
* Support the safe use and maintenance of specialist equipment, including the kiln and other workshop tools.
* Assist staff with the creation of teaching resources and provide technical input where appropriate during lessons.
* Curate and install displays of student work across the school, reflecting the creativity and diversity of pupils' artistic achievements.
* Run a lunchtime Scholars Art Club, aimed at extending and enriching the experience of the school’s most talented and dedicated young artists.
* Lead a weekly after school or additional lunch time Art Club, open to all students, promoting creativity, enjoyment, and experimentation beyond the classroom.
