Job overview

GMMH Facilities are recruiting a Receipt & Distribution (R&D) Stores Assistant for our Facilities Team. The role supports service delivery through technological advancements and process improvements, aiming to provide excellent service to our users and customers.

The post holder will be part of the R&D team, collaborating across CEF Facilities and the wider organisation to ensure high-quality service.

Responsibilities include driving, distribution, portering, and stores duties, with full training provided. The role requires working closely with colleagues, offering flexible and comprehensive support.


Main duties of the job

* Serve as the front-facing contact for Prestwich Stores customers, including occasional contact with service users.
* Maintain a professional, friendly, and efficient image.
* Ensure confidentiality per Information Governance policies.
* Report recurring issues to management.
* Assist with sorting goods and mail.
* Perform routine and non-routine portering and delivery duties.
* Deliver medication, specimens, food, and goods safely, adhering to policies.
* Occasionally use power tools for dismantling furniture.
* Process all goods receipts and dispatches on the stores system.
* Move cages, boxes, and pallets regularly.
* Follow health and safety protocols and report issues.

* Pay enhancements: 30% additional for evenings and Saturdays; 60% for Sundays and bank holidays.
* Receive and dispatch goods using a system.
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
* Experience with equipment for moving cages, pallets, etc.
* Previous experience in R&D stores preferred.

* Understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Proficiency with computers.

* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.


Other Requirements

* Flexibility to meet changing service demands.
