Job Title: Digital Products and Agile Lead
Location: Worthing (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37
About the role
It’s an exciting time to join us!
Big ambitions. Big investment. Big changes. We’ve a lot to offer Digital/IT professionals. We’ve already grown tenfold in the past couple of years. Now we’re beginning our biggest transformation programme as we enter AMP8 – and we can’t wait for what comes next, as part of an evolution so huge it’ll change the way we do things forever. There’s a buzz across our business. And digitalisation and data are at the heart of it all.
The Digital Products Lead is key in driving engagement, adoption, and continuous improvement of agile and digital product teams across all business directorates, supporting our broader Digital Transformation.
You will guide the transition to a hybrid delivery model, blending project-based methods with agile and product approaches to solve business challenges. You will collaborate across departments, promote and assist the adoption of new ways of working, write business cases, set standards, and measure product team adoption—supporting both existing and new teams as they are established.
A pragmatic, tailored approach is needed on how we adopt product and agile frameworks, build peer consensus, and demonstrate team performance value.
While focused on digital products, you will also be the main contact for agile practices in both project and product contexts.
Being the pioneer in this role, will be responsible for line management to guide and empower your team as it grows.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Product strategy & roadmap – Developing and maintaining our strategy for how product and agile is adopted as part of an overall roadmap. Setting and achieving approach goals for adoption.
2. Product adoption and onboarding – Shaping the business case for product teams to form, and onboarding teams into new ways of working. Putting in place the plans, along with appropriate training and support
3. Stakeholder engagement – Working collaboratively across the Digital teams and wider business to ensure that agile and product are doing in a way that it complementary to how we operate, rather than seen as an opposing method to current practices.
4. Performance metrics – Establishing the metrics to measure how product teams are operating, and then tracking these in operation to inform continuous improvement.
5. Communities of practice – Running communities of practice for product-based disciplines. Taking feedback and understanding challenges which are addressed and embedded into ways of working.
6. Team leadership – Leading the Digital Products function as this develops with the adoption of products. Setting out the need for additional resource based upon business cases.
Skills and Competencies needed:
7. Software delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
8. Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Lean)
9. Atlassian Jira and Confluence
10. Product Management (PROD): Expertise in product management principles and practices.
11. User Experience Design (HCEV): Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and practices.
12. Agile Methodologies (METL): Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Agile frameworks.
13. Industry Research (BPRE): Ability to conduct industry research and competitive analysis.
14. Data-Driven Decision Making (DTAN): Using data and analytics to inform product decisions.
15. Leadership & Collaboration (LEAD): Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
16. Communication (COMM): Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
17. Innovation (INOV): Ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
18. Change Management (CHMG): Expertise in managing organisational change and driving the adoption of new methodologies.
