Musselburgh Grammar School is a vibrant and ambitious secondary, serving the town of Musselburgh and the nearby village of Whitecraig. The Musselburgh community is strong, lively and loyal and our school sits proudly at the heart of it. Musselburgh is the largest town in East Lothian with easy access to the City Bypass and is only 5 miles east of Edinburgh city centre with excellent bus and train links.
We are a fully comprehensive school with approximately pupils ranging in age from 12 to 18, and over staff in total. Our Modern Languages Faculty is in an exciting time of change and improvement, and this is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, inspiring and committed teacher of Modern Languages. You will be part of a team of enthusiastic teachers who are passionate about teaching language and giving our young people a strong foundation in this area of the curriculum; giving them skills to equip them for life. You must be able to teach Spanish across all levels of the curriculum, and ideally teach one more language, but we are flexible about which second language this is. We are happy to consider applications from candidates wishing to work part-time.

Job Details
Teaching relevant subject through S1-S6.
Subject to the policies of the school and the education authority the duties of teachers, promoted and unpromoted, are to perform such tasks as the Head Teacher shall direct having reasonable regard to overall teacher workload related to the following categories-
Teaching assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction
Developing the school curriculum
Assessing, recording and reporting on the work of pupils
Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with their administration
Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education
Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils
Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development
Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review
Contributing towards good order and the wider needs of the school
