Accounting Services Semi-Senior/Bookkeeper An exciting opportunity to join our well-established practice within our fast growing and forward-thinking Accounting Services team. Established in 1899, we serve a diverse client base in a range of industries. Our work is focused wholly on owner managed businesses, with turnovers from circa £1 million up to £100 million. We provide a wide range of services to include audit, accountancy, accounts support, payroll bureau, tax compliance, specialist tax services, M&A and deals and transaction reports. The firm has 29 partners, 8 of whom are based in Dartford together with approximately 60 professional and administrative staff members. We also pride ourselves on our own investment in staff training and development, all within in a friendly but professional environment. The role We are looking for an Accounting Services Semi-Senior/Bookkeeper to support our growing team which provides a wide range of services from bookkeeping to management accounting to virtual FD advisory/support services to a range of clients in varied industries. The successful candidate will have a strong base of experience in bookkeeping, management accounting, VAT, statutory accounts preparation and corporation tax computations. Candidates with solely high-level management accounts experience will also be considered. The position also offers the opportunity to be involved in training and supervision of junior team members, as well as working closely with team managers and contribute to and be part of the success of the team in the long term. The ideal candidate will be AAT Qualified to level 3 with at least 1 years experience in a similar role within practice. Key responsibilities Key responsibilities will include: Ability to gain a detailed understanding of the clients business and liaise directly with business owners and management; Bookkeeping for a range of different clients; Preparing management reporting pack from clients software/trial balance; Preparing and reviewing VAT returns [HH1] ; Communicate directly with clients; On-site client work (where necessary);and Working to tight deadlines and budgets and having a flexible working approach. A strong accounting background combined with good IT skills including confidence with using a range of SME-level accounting software for example Sage Line 50, Xero, QuickBooks and Excel.
