Job Description
3. Provide expert Design & Compliance leadership across procurement, construction, and handover phases.
4. Review tender and design documentation to identify compliance, buildability, regulatory and contractual risks.
5. Lead Gateway 2 & Gateway 3 submissions, ensuring robust evidence and regulatory alignment.
6. Oversee design integrity and compliance from feasibility through to completion.
7. Ensure adherence to the Building Safety Act, PAS 2035/2038 and all statutory regulations.
8. Coordinate designers, architects, engineers, and specialist consultants.
9. Facilitate risk workshops, design reviews, and technical approvals.
10. Support safe systems of work and temporary works considerations at design stage.
11. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to operational teams.
12. Develop standardised internal design/compliance procedures tailored to complex refurbishment.
13. Build positive client relationships to support future work opportunities.
The Successful Applicant
14. Level 3 Registered Building Inspector (essential).
15. Extensive experience in refurbishment, including:High-riseRetrofitListed / heritage buildings
16. Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Safety Act & PAS 2035/2038.
17. Ability to interpret complex legislation, contracts, and technical specifications.
18. Excellent communication, leadership, and mentor-style approach.
19. Proven ability to manage risk and influence project outcomes.
20. High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
21. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of design liability.
22. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
