Hays are partnering with a well-established and highly reputable retail organisation, to recruit a Trading Manager to join theirmercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving category performance and deliveringmercial growth within a fast-paced environment.
Your new role
In this position, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing product categories to maximise sales, profitability and market share.
2. You will develop and implement trading strategies, analyse performance data and customer trends.
3. Work closely with suppliers to negotiatepetitive terms and promotional plans.
4. You will collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain and store operations teams to ensure effective product availability and execution.
5. You will monitor market activity, identify growth opportunities, and continuously optimise ranges and pricing strategies to meet customer demand.
What you'll need to succeed
6. Recent experience in a trading, buying or category management role
7. Strongmercial awareness with the ability to drive sales and margin growth
8. Proven experience in supplier negotiation and relationship management
9. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends
10. Strongmunication and stakeholder management abilities
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
12. Experience usingmercial or ERP systems
13. Third-level qualification in business, supply chain or a related discipline
