Position
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Community Mental Health Staff Nurse based at Ailsa Hospital.
What you will do:
You will be working with service users who experience problematic substance use with co-existing mental health difficulties. You should be open to new ways of working and be able to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving and changing service, undertaking comprehensive clinical assessment and recovery focused treatment support to clients with a range of alcohol and drug problems including mental, sexual and physical health related issues within a community setting. You will also be involved in the development and supervision of staff as well as service development.
Based in South Ayrshire, you will be willing to undertake further training/education to achieve specific alcohol and drug competencies and it is essential that you have an interest in and a positive attitude towards service users experiencing mental health and substance use issues.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
The Services would welcome applicants who will embrace contribute and lead change in practice and undertake additional training education and practice development. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are also essential.
It is essential you have a professional qualification (Registered Mental Health Nurse. You will have excellent communication and information technology skills. You will also have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol use and associated issues and a genuine desire to work with individuals. It is desirable that you have experience of working in a community setting however not essential.
