Job Description – AV & IT Installation Technician
Location: Swindon (UK-wide travel required)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (with pay increase upon achieving CTS certification)
Job Type: Full-time
About Sysflex Ltd
Sysflex Ltd is a growing provider of AV, CCTV, Access Control, and IT support solutions for commercial clients. We deliver high-quality installations and technical support, and as a small but expanding business, we offer our team the opportunity to grow with us.
The Role
We are seeking a flexible and dedicated AV & IT Installation Technician to join our team. This role combines:
* Strong IT knowledge (networking, troubleshooting, systems support), and
* Hands-on installation experience (AV, CCTV, Access Control, or similar systems).
The role is primarily focused on AV installations, but also includes CCTV, Access Control, and IT support. A significant part of this job involves travelling across the UK to customer sites, so flexibility is essential.
This is not a 9–5 role — we need someone who is committed to delivering projects to a high standard, even when that means staying on site until the job is properly completed. In return, you’ll be part of a supportive team with genuine opportunities for career growth, including funded training towards AVIXA CTS certification (with a pay increase upon completion).
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and maintain AV systems (displays, audio, video conferencing, control systems).
* Support installations of CCTV and Access Control systems.
* Provide IT support alongside our helpdesk team when required.
* Travel regularly to customer sites across the UK (including some overnight stays).
* Troubleshoot technical issues both on-site and remotely.
* Ensure installations are delivered to a professional, high-quality standard.
* Maintain accurate documentation of all installation and support work.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong IT knowledge (networking, troubleshooting, Windows environments).
* Proven installation experience (AV, CCTV, Access Control, or structured cabling).
* Dedication and flexibility — able to work until the job is completed to a high standard.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Desirable Skills
* Prior IT helpdesk/support experience.
* Familiarity with AVIXA/CTS standards.
* CSCS/ECS card or equivalent site certification.
* Experience with system integration projects.
What We Offer
* Competitive salary (with pay increase after CTS qualification).
* Company phone and laptop.
* Funded training and professional development (including AVIXA CTS).
* Access to company pool vehicles.
* Flexible working (site-based, office-based, and some home working during quieter periods).
* Opportunity to grow with an ambitious, forward-thinking business.
