The Clinical Outpatient Department at Salford Royal Hospital is seeking two part-time Health Care Assistants to join the Clinical Outpatient Team. Available hours are 14 and 8 hours per week.
Suitable candidates should possess a Level 3 certificate or apprenticeship in a healthcare-related subject, along with a Care Certificate.
The department offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills across various specialties, with support from a team of registered nurses. Candidates should be proficient in venipuncture, possess strong organizational skills within a clinic setting, demonstrate leadership qualities, and have an interest in leading standardization of clinic activities.
You will provide a person-centered approach to patient care, ensuring compassionate and personalized service to enhance patient experiences. In return, you will join a supportive team and receive robust personal development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work within clinics as allocated by the nurse in charge.
2. Support clinicians by assisting in the delivery of care to patients directly or indirectly.
3. Manage clinic workload and team organization.
4. Support registered staff using knowledge and skills gained at NVQ Level 3 to ensure safe, effective care.
5. Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and visitors.
6. Perform routine procedures required for daily operations, including diagnostic result handling.
7. Maintain cleanliness standards in the department.
8. Support efforts to achieve and maintain OPAAS green status.
Note: Changes to UK immigration policy effective from April 2025 have increased the minimum salary threshold for Health and Care Worker Visa sponsorship to £25,000. New NHS staff starting salary as per Agenda for Change is £24,937, which is below the sponsorship threshold.
