We're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to provide interim support on a 2 month temporary contract till the end of the year. The role is a full time role (35 hours pw), will be based in Cannock (hybrid working available) and is due to start as soon as possible.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of monthly payroll for approximately 300 employees.
You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team who've recently added some administrative support, and you'll take ownership of payroll delivery through to sign-off in December.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 300 employees using iTrent
2. Ensure all payroll data, adjustments, and submissions are completed accurately and on time
3. Process statutory payments, deductions, and adjustments (SSP, SMP, pensions, etc.)
4. Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure data integrity and compliance
5. Prepare payroll reports for approval and audit
6. Support with any payroll queries and provide a high standard of customer service
About You:
7. Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally within an education or public sector setting
8. Strong working knowledge of iTrent is desirable
9. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
10. Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
