As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Athena Platform (CIB), you will be a key member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role involves executing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains to support the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
1. Implement software solutions, including design, development, and troubleshooting, with innovative approaches to solve complex problems.
2. Develop secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that integrate seamlessly with relevant systems.
3. Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met during development.
4. Analyze large, diverse data sets to produce visualizations and reports that support continuous improvement of applications and systems.
5. Identify hidden problems and data patterns proactively, leveraging insights to enhance coding practices and system architecture.
6. Contribute to software engineering communities and explore emerging technologies.
7. Promote a team culture rooted in diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Formal training or certification in Advanced C++ and Java programming, with practical experience in applying these skills.
* Strong understanding of distributed systems.
* Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
* Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
* Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
* Knowledge of software applications and technical processes in disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile development.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
* Exposure to cloud technologies.
