Newly Qualified Operating Department Practitioners

We are looking to recruit Newly Qualified Operating Department Practitioners to join our Anaesthetic team in Main Theatres. We provide an in-house induction, preceptorship package, and both in-house and external training opportunities to support your continued professional development.
We offer a supportive, challenging work environment with a flexible supernumerary period for new starters. A dedicated Practice Development Facilitator supports training and development. A rotational plan will ensure competency in your allocated speciality.
Main duties of the job
* Support the perioperative team by providing skilled assistance in Anaesthetics.
* Participate in a rota system that provides 24‑hour care, including weekends and public holidays.
* Provide skilled anaesthetic assistance in CT, MRI, Emergency Department and transfer to other units.
* Participate as part of the resuscitation team.
* Access to vulnerable adults and/or children requires an Enhanced DBS Check in line with Trust policy.
Person Specification
Education / Qualification
* Registered Operating Department Practitioner or nurse with a UK‑approved anaesthetic qualification.
* Member of a Professional Body.
* For RN – ENB 176/183/182/HDU/Critical Care, teaching qualification such as ENB 998, Mentorship Preparation Programme, C&G 730.
Experience
* Sound knowledge and experience of basic theatre skills and theatre processes. If no previous theatre experience, a commitment to developing skills and knowledge and some understanding of the theatre environment is required.
* Experience in a broad range of theatre specialities.

Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 per annum pro rata.
