Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting learners with Profound and multiple learning difficulties? A local SEN provision in Pontypridd, RCT is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. This role involves working closely with children with additional needs, supporting their learning and behavioural development in a nurturing environment.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support and supervise learners with complex needs, assisting in both classroom activities and social interactions. Your responsibilities include helping staff prepare classroom resources, working in small groups or on a one-to-one basis with children requiring additional support, and engaging learners in educational and recreational activities. You will also contribute to maintaining positive behaviour in accordance with the school's policies.
The ideal candidate for this SEN Teaching Assistant role will have at least three months’ experience working with children in school, nursery, or childcare settings, preferably within an SEN environment. Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is required, and a current Enhanced DBS on the update service is essential or willingness to obtain one. You must have the right to work in the UK and be committed to safeguarding and supporting learners with complex needs.
